Harrow is the largest community of the London Borough of Harrow and is a big town in Greater London, England. The entire village, including its localities, had a population of 149,246 as of the 2011 census, whereas the wider borough (including Pinner and Stanmore) had a population of 250,149. It is located about 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-west of Charing Cross and 5.4 miles (8.7 km) south of Watford.

Harrow's historic heart was perched atop Harrow Hill, standing at 408 feet (124 meters). At the foot of the settlement, in what was once known as Greenhill, the modern town of Harrow sprung up. The hub of Harrow shifted to Greenhill with the opening of the Metropolitan Railway in the 19th century, and it expanded as the unofficial 'capital' of the Metroland suburban in the early 20th century;[5] Harrow-on-the-Hill station is located on one of the Chilterns' railway corridors. Meanwhile, one and a half-mile north of the hill, Harrow & Wealdstone station is on the West Coast Main Line and is the seventh oldest railway station in the country, opening in 1837. The opening of various factories in the area attracted workers. Harrow was home to the massive Kodak facility, which produced photographic materials and conducted research and development for more than a century.

Toilets, gardens, attics, kitchens, taps and telephone lines, fireplaces, and gaslighting were among the house's amenities.
