Camden is a northwest London district located 2.5 miles (4.1 kilometers) north of Charing Cross. It is the administrative center of the London Borough of Camden and one of the 34 critical centers in Greater London listed in the London Plan. It is historically in Middlesex.
Camden Town was established as a residential district in 1791 and was originally part of the manor of Kentish Town and the parish of St Pancras. It became a significant location during the early development of the railways, bolstering its position on the London canal network. Service industries such as retail, tourism, and entertainment have supplanted the area's industrial economic basis. Street markets and music venues linked with alternative culture now abound in the region.
The Roundhouse was built in 1847 for the London and North Western Railway as a locomotive roundhouse. It was afterward used for a variety of purposes, including a corn and potato shop and a Gilbey's gin warehouse, before becoming abandoned until it was transformed into a theatre, arts center, and music venue in 1966, closed and reopened in 2006 as a theatre and music venue.
Camden Catacombs were formerly used as stables for horses, and pit ponies used to shunt railway carriages. They are not actual catacombs but an underground area beneath the Camden markets. Due to the risk of floods, visits are not permitted.
Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transporter, and Ford Transit will be among our minibusses. Please note that alcohol is not permitted on any of the journeys, and any damage caused as a result must be paid for.
